Organic Modern Meets Miami Style in this Backyard

Our clients are building a waterfront home in Bal Harbour, FL, overlooking one of Miami’s main waterways. The architecture blends contemporary details with warmer organic influences, and they wanted the outdoor spaces to feel like a natural extension of the home.

The pool immediately stands out. A custom gradient mosaic spans the pool floor, bringing color, depth, and a completely custom look to the water.

And, while this property is large, the home’s footprint occupies much of the available outdoor area. That meant every feature had to be carefully positioned to preserve views toward the water, maintain privacy from neighboring properties, and stay within the site’s allowable coverage requirements.

The result is a backyard that feels open to the water while still offering the privacy and comfort our clients were looking for.

Challenges

Although the property sits on a large waterfront lot, the home’s architecture occupies a significant portion of the available outdoor space. Our design team carefully balanced coverage restrictions, privacy requirements, and waterfront views while adapting to multiple architectural revisions throughout the project.
