Key Takeaways:
These three yards show how indoor–outdoor living can transform the way you experience your home. Each one flows from the entry, through the house, and into an outdoor space designed to blur the line between interior and exterior. Here’s how:
– Foxhaven Estate: Retractable glass walls connect the kitchen, dining, and patio into one continuous environment. A curving pool, boardwalk, sunken seating, and floating daybeds bring a resort feel to everyday living.
– Costa Palma: On the Costa Rican coast, a courtyard with a reflection pool leads through the home into a series of outdoor destinations. From a covered patio to a sunken seating area framed with acrylic and an infinity-edge pool, every zone is tied to the oceanfront setting.
– The Parkland: A dramatic glass entry and fountain set the tone, carrying through to a backyard designed like a private resort. Striped tile pool, integrated spa, acrylic wall, fire features, floating walkways, and oversized lounges make the outdoors rival the interiors.

Foxhaven Estate

Foxhaven Estate was designed to feel connected to the natural landscape and create a seamless space that allows our clients to enjoy their property whether they are inside the house or outside.
The home opens straight through to the backyard, where retractable glass walls blur the boundary between the kitchen, dining space, and patio. When they’re open, it becomes one continuous environment.
A boardwalk draws your eye through the outdoor space, while a gently curving pool adds an organic touch to the modern lines. A sunken seating area in the pool combines fire and water for a dramatic effect, while oversized floating daybeds create the resort-style outdoor living experience that makes this space feel transportive.
Costa Palma

This oceanfront property in Costa Rica is stunning, and it needed a yard design that would be just as impressive as the view. The design makes full use of the setting, from the entrance, to the yard, to the oceanfront beach.
We created a courtyard with a dramatic curved reflection pool, seating areas, and magical lighting. It leads you through the home into the backyard. From there, our clients can enjoy a covered patio or step out into their outdoor space.
The yard was designed with a series of distinct areas—each one its own destination. There’s a lounging terrace with floating daybeds, a sunken seating area framed by an acrylic panel that gives the illusion of being underwater, and an infinity-edge pool design that makes the transition from the yard to the beach feel natural and intentional. Every detail was chosen to highlight the beauty of the surroundings and create a truly luxury home outdoor space.
The Parkland

The front entrance of this home immediately sets the tone for the entire space. It’s one of the most lavish entrances we’ve ever designed, with dramatic glass gates, a bold fountain, a tiered water feature, and oversized glass panels. A true example of luxury home entrance design.
But the backyard is even more impressive and rivals the most luxurious private resorts. The glass panels let you see through the entire home, framing the backyard like a piece of artwork.
When the back doors are open, the home expands into a yard where you immediately see a dramatic pool with unique striped tiling, a spa that’s seamlessly integrated, and an acrylic panel that takes the design to another level.
The pool is framed by sunken seating areas that let you lounge at eye level with the water, floating walkways that add dimension, and fire features that bring in wow factor. The outdoor dining space and oversized seating areas are every bit as refined as the interior—an example of how modern outdoor architecture can redefine what backyard living looks like.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What’s the difference between a yard that looks good and a yard you actually spend time in?
A: It’s about creating a space that changes the way you spend time at home and that seamlessly connects your interior with your exterior. A yard designed with flow and usability in mind draws you outside and becomes part of your lifestyle.
Q: How do you create a seamless flow between indoor and outdoor spaces?
A: We design yards that extend your lifestyle outdoors with a flow that starts at the entrance of your home, continues through your indoor space, and carries out into the backyard. Retractable glass walls, aligned flooring, and intentional outdoor “rooms” make the transition feel natural.
Q: What design elements make an outdoor space feel as refined as an indoor space?
A: Each area is designed to feel thoughtful and complete—whether it’s a sunken seating area mixed with fire and water, floating daybeds that create a resort-style feel, or outdoor dining and oversized lounges that rival any interior space.
Q: How do you make a yard work with its surroundings?
A: Instead of competing with the environment, we design to frame it. At Costa Palma, for example, the yard was designed with a series of distinct areas leading all the way to the beach, with features like a reflection pool, covered patio, and infinity-edge transitions that echo the coastline.
Q: What makes these three yards examples of indoor–outdoor living?
A: Each one balances beauty with function. Foxhaven Estate connects directly to the backyard through retractable glass walls. Costa Palma layers outdoor destinations that match the beauty of its Costa Rican setting. The Parkland frames the backyard like art and expands into a yard as detailed as the interior. Together, they show what’s possible when indoor and outdoor spaces are designed as one.
