What if you could walk through your new yard before construction started?
If you could see exactly how your new yard will look from your windows – looking out.
So that you know you’re getting the best possible view, no matter where you are inside your home.
Whether that’s at the kitchen sink, washing dishes.
Your lounge area catching up with friends.
Or your home office, gazing out the window.
Because our process is completely virtual, we show you exactly what your new yard will look like, before you even hire a contractor.
This way, you get the best possible preview of your new yard.
And you know you’re going to end up with an outdoor space you love once construction is complete.

Before
When we started the design for this project this, was a house coming from the ground up. The basement was starting to be put in and after the basement the overall structure and
framework was there and it really allowed us to figure out the best placement for some of the key elements like the Cabana like the outdoor grill and island with those key areas in place this whole yard started to take shape.
After
The finished yard is that and so much more. We took advantage of the client’s existing outdoor space, to highlight features like a grand oak tree, a stunning view, and greenery. And we made sure the transition from inside their home, outside, is seamless. We extended their living space outdoors and created a backyard that feels more like a luxury resort than a neighborhood backyard.
The Sunken Seating Area
When you’re inside the house, you just need to open these massive pocket doors to go outside. So, you feel really connected with the outdoor space, when you’re inside. And, walking out, the first thing your eye goes to is a massive old growth oak tree. We suspended lights to really draw your eye to this gorgeous tree and it ends up feeling like an outdoor living room. The sunken seating area is just so connected. And the entire space is grand, but still cozy.
The Pool & Water Sheers
A key element in this yard is not just about creating a space that looks great. But one that creates this overall feeling of relaxation. And that’s where these water sheers are such an incredible addition to the yard. Not only are they visually stunning, but the sound resonates throughout the entire yard. And there’s nothing that says luxury quite like the sound of running water.
They’re dramatic, and are truly the stars of the show in this yard.
We chose shears instead of something like a rain curtain because thy add a certain weight to the space. They’re substantial. And they create scale and volume in a way that a daintier water curtain wouldn’t.
Statement Planters
A key element in this yard is not just about creating a space that looks great. But one that creates this overall feeling of relaxation. And that’s where these water sheers are such an incredible addition to the yard. Not only are they visually stunning, but the sound resonates throughout the entire yard. And there’s nothing that says luxury quite like the sound of running water.
Oversized Daybeds
These oversized daybeds are one of the things added to this yard to really make it feel more luxurious and resort-like. When you’re relaxing in the daybeds, you’re surrounded by water. You look down and you see water, you’re floating.
Of course the daybeds are actually supported on the Baja shelf, but it gives this illusion that you’re on your own little island. You have this private retreat and a walkway that leads you to your own area. There are lots of common areas in this yard, so we wanted to create spaces that also feel intimate and private within the yard – and these daybeds definitely do that.
The Spa & Baja Shelf
Usually, we try to create an intimate space for the spa, that’s tucked away from the rest of the yard. Location is key when designing a spa. And in this yard, we decided to add the spa right behind the outdoor dining area.
This way, our clients can keep the conversation going with anyone sitting in the lounge/dining area or lounging in the Baja shelf, but they still feel like they have some privacy.
The Luxury Outdoor Dining Area, Bar & Kitchen Patio
When you walk behind the rain shears, it feels like you’re on a Mediterranean vacation. There’s this beautiful outdoor dining room behind the pool and you’re surrounded by these turquoise waters. That, with the whitewashed limestone, and you really feel like you were transported.
The Front Entrance & Driveway
Another area that we don’t often show in a lot, is the front driveway and entrance. For this driveway, we chose large acid wash colored concrete with rock in between. When you’re making decisions about your driveway, a lot of clients don’t want to spend a ton of money on materials because it can be such a large space.
But in this space, that little extra attention to detail makes all the difference and you end up with an entrance that feels really luxurious.
The Wellness Center Plunge Pool & Spa
The hidden gem of this home is in the basement. There’s an entire wellness center that has every luxury amenity you can imagine.
The architect made this amazing space, and we responded by creating a plunge pool and a jacuzzi. We used a beautiful limestone that has some 3D texture to really reflect the light and highlight the areas we want to focus on in this wellness space.
It’s so fun when clients go all out to be able to really respond with elements that match it in the yard – like they did in this space.
Client Wanted A Modern Mediterranean Resort in Their Backyard
This yard has all the luxury amenities you’d find at a 5-star hotel. We’re showing you why we’d choose to stay here instead of at a high-end resort any day.
