Floating Sunken Seating Area
A sunken seating area instantly elevates any yard. But adding it inside the pool? That takes things to another level. This sunken seating area feels so cozy with seating to gather around the fire.
And being at eye level with the pool feels incredibly luxurious when you are actually sitting in this seating area.
Rain Curtain
Creating a relaxing ambiance in your yard isn’t just about making it look beautiful. It’s also about setting the tone with sound. Adding a water feature to your space will instantly create a spa-style, relaxing atmosphere for your whole yard.
In this yard, we wanted to recreate that vacation magic of travelling to Tulum. And part of that meant adding Cenote-inspired elements and a connection to nature. Like a rain curtain that calls to mind a naturally beautiful waterfall. And a spa that’s tucked away in a cave-like shade structure.
Cenote-Inspired Spa
Designing a high-end spa is all about the details. Like choosing soothing tones, a calming blend of materials – and in this yard – creating a cozy space tucked away from the main yard. We wanted this spa to feel like a Tulum Cenote. So we made a cave-like shade structure for the spa to sit in. And added water elements that flow directly into the spa. The total effect is really impressive.
Outdoor Kitchen And Dining Area
Sometimes, an outdoor kitchen can feel like an afterthought. They are mainly designed for function. But we wanted this outdoor kitchen, dining area, and bar to stand out. And that’s why we designed the space with a dimensional statement wall.
We kept the color palette neutral to go with the rest of this relaxing yard, but it’s the dimension and texture that really make this part of the yard special.
Fire Features
Whether you want to enjoy a cozy evening sitting around the fire table or time in the sunken seating area around the fire pit, there are two standout fire features in this space.
We created a seating area that flanks the pool, the fire table is situated between a built in lounge and chairs. We are always conscious of scale and placement when it comes to creating a space like this with a fire table. You want to make sure that the seat is the perfect distance away from the fire table to make it as comfortable as possible to sit and enjoy the space.
The second fire feature is actually inside the pool. We made the floating sunken seating area even more impressive by adding the element of fire. Anytime we can combine fire with a water element – like the pool—it adds so much “WOW” factor to a space.
